“Church Matters”
What is your view of church? Some say church doesn’t matter and it’s totally irrelevant. Others view church as a place to become well rounded for political purposes or something to add to a resume. Some even view church as a place one goes to be entertained. Church is a creation of God, by God and for the purpose of worshipping God. Church is a God idea and it certainly matters. Since church is a God idea, the bible helps us see that worship is not about what we want, but more so about what God wants. The church is not a building one goes to. The church is a spiritual institution purchased by the blood of Jesus comprised of people who are forgiven born again believers. CHRISTIANS ARE THE CHURCH!
Church is not a one day a week Sunday thing , it's WHO YOU ARE ALL THE TIME. When believers become born again, God places born again believers into the Lord’s church, the body of Christ (Acts 2:47). The primary purpose of the church is to assemble to worship God in Spirit and in Truth as well as learn the manifold wisdom of God (Jn 4:24; Heb 10:24-25; Eph 3:8:10). The term church comes from an original term ekklesia which means “called out”. God “calls out” sinners out of the world through the gospel (2 Thes 2:13-14) and sends us back into the world to let our light shine before men and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ (Mt 5:16; Mt 28:18-20). The church is the “called out” assembly which assembles each first day of every week to worship the Lord (Acts 20:7). When the church assembles to worship God one can find direction, purpose, self worth, hope, encouragement, joy, knowledge, wisdom, understanding and eternal life. Your destiny can be discovered from the teaching that takes place at worship if you take the time to come, listen and receive. Time is a precious commodity which is not promised and should not be wasted. Spend your time wisely learning from God’s wisdom which will give you a better quality of life.
Do come worship the Lord with us each Sunday @ 10am! Church matters.
